Learn the fundamentals of wood stabilizing in this private, hands-on lesson with Curtis Seebeck, the creator of Cactus Juice Stabilizing Solutions and a leading expert in the field. This introductory class will guide you through the essential steps of stabilizing, including preparing your equipment and wood blanks, proper drying techniques, and curing the finished product.

Held at the Mid-Atlantic Turners Expo, this class is perfect for turners, pen makers, and woodworking enthusiasts looking to get started with stabilizing in a simple, straightforward way.

What to Bring:

Each student may bring up to FOUR pen blank-sized wood blanks for the hands-on stabilizing process. Blanks should be approximately ¾" to 1" thick and no longer than 5".
Medium to soft woods
Punky, spalted, or dry-rotted woods
Please do NOT bring hard or oily woods.

Don’t have wood to stabilize? Specialty blanks suitable for this class will be available for purchase from show vendors.

This introductory course is designed to give you a solid foundation in stabilizing—no prior experience needed!
